Lush

It’s getting towards the end of May and the April showers have finally finished. It’s been warm for a few days and the warm sunny weather is set to continue. There are a lot of sun-starved plants in the garden with wet roots rearing to go.

This is a view of the new border that was planted last autumn – from about 1ft up. I really like the way all the flower buds and flower heads are reaching up to the sunlight, it feels wonderfully generous and verdant.

One of my aims is to have the garden look like this from normal eye level, to have rows and tiers of plants that will fill the view with lush growth and countless flowers of all shapes and sizes. I hope that with all the rain we’ve had and the sunny weather we’re due, the garden will shoot up, fill out and positively burst at the border seams with enthusiasm and life.
