Using LaTeX on a Mac

This is a small guide to help you get started writing a thesis – or any other long or technical document /report/dissertation – on a Mac using the LaTeX typesetting system. The Mac is easy and ideal for such undertakings as its underlying Unix layer allows powerful command-line and scripting capabilities for those who wish it and it also has the intuitive and easy to use front-end for those wishing to do everything graphically along with native PDF support and some powerful Mac bundled Utilities.
